Textures Restaurant

These last month of the year in Catalonia is Mushroom's time. The restaurants of the city make their own gastronomical menus using mushrooms for all the dishes. Now it's a good time to enjoy good food.

The last restaurant I have known is called Textures. Near of the city center of Terrassa, next to the Textil Musem of the city. It is a nice place where you can have a good eating with their tasting menu. In this case, with the mushrooms in the background.

There you can enjoy of one aperitif, two starters, one second and a dessert. All of them based in mushrooms. They have a little and typical wine list, where you can find good wines like Gotim Bru (Costers del Segre) or Ramon Bilbao (Rioja). But we try with Jane Ventura (Merlot, 2006, Penedès) and I have to say that I liked it very much.

I recommend it to all the people who like good eating.

It made me have a good time eating good food.

Julian Casablancas - Phrazes for the young

Where were Julian all this time? Why these never-ending time of silence?

In 2001 something happened in my live. Untill then I was just a guy who liked music. But I remember that in that year, a new cd went into my hands. I don't remember how. But now I can say that, that cd changed my personal thinking about the music. Since them, the music has become something special for me.

That cd, that album, was 'Is this it' by The Strokes (2001). The band formed for Nick Valensi, Albert Hammond, Nikolai Fraiture, Fab Moretti and Julian Casablancas made a disc for the History. Now I hear that album and I get excited.

The last album from Strokes was in 2005. From then, some members have made their solo careers. Albert Hammond jr. and Little joy are examples of it.

I've been waiting until 2009 to listen the lider of the strokes playing something new again. But it is very good.

The Julian's new album is called Phrazes for the young. And it contains 8 songs that remember me again which music I like.

Whatever Works

I admit, I'm a Woody Allen Fan.

Something strange happens when I start seeing one of his films. The confusing reality that he can create and all intelligent humor of the movie characters arouse admiration in me.

In his last film, Whatever Works (2009), this happens again.

Maybe this movie is not the best Allen's movie. There are many people who will see the film and they will think that is another woody allen film, one more, and the same of all others. But it's just this what I like.

Special people living in a special world. Happening things that can only happen in this Woddy Allen's world. It's always the same, but in every film I see, I discover something new, and there is something that make me have a really funny time.

It's another Allen's movie, but I recommend everyone to see it, to have a good time with it, to try to understand what is he is telling us, to get us to smile. And all I can say is that this film is one thing that made me forget all the bad things that I had in my mind, and live better for a little time.

What Happens?

This is not a cultural blog. The purpose of this blog is not to let you know latest trends. I hope not to use this blog to make bad reviews about the things that seems wrong. This is already done by the newspapers every day.

All I only want is that this blog serves to share with you those little things that I discover in everyday life that make it more enjoyable.

And... what does "enjoyable" means for me?

"Enjoyable" can be a lot of differents things that we find in everyday life. From a song that we listen and make us smile, until an image that we see walking in the street. It can be a good new or a good meal in a new restaurant that we didn't know before.

And if I get a person smile with one of my comments, this blogs has already been worth.
